Validating current grading scales for lingual frenulum length and tongue mobility in 1052 subjects. This grading scale allows clinicians to effectively communicate tongue mobility and associated nasal and oral function as they pertain to facial development. Further studies are needed to characterize the specific alterations to the lingual frenulum that render functional impairments.
